My Story

What we are doing

Walking (...and maybe crawling by the end) for 10 hours through the beautiful, but gruelling, hills and valleys of the Black Mountains, that span England and Wales.

Why we are doing it

Because we think its brilliant (...and pretty darn funny at times) to get some of our leadership team out from behind their desks and up a very (very) big mountain.

Oh, and because the work The Youth Adventure Trust do is outstanding, and we want to support them in any way we can.

Who we are raising money for

The amazing Youth Adventure Trust works to give vulnerable 11–15-year-olds the help they need to face any challenges they are having.

They work with the young people for three school years, providing one-to-one support, alongside a programme of outdoor adventure which helps them to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills which will last a lifetime.

What we need from you

In the famous words of Tom Cruise in iconic film Jerry Maguire - “Show Me the Money!”

Any donation, big or small, goes a very long way to help us reach our fundraising goal of £2,000 and change the life of a young vulnerable person.

Meet the Kaboodle Housebuilders Challenge Team

Matt Pitt, Kaboodle MD
"The work of the Youth Adventure Trust, and the impact they have on young lives, is truly inspiring. It’s great to see the construction industry come together each year for the Housebuilder Challenge and Kaboodle are very proud to be taking part in our third event. Training starts now!"

Glenn Beardon, Kaboodle Commercial Director
"I enjoy doing the Housebuilders Challenge, as it’s great to test yourself in the mountain environment, physically and mentally. Particularly when the clouds come in and you have to navigate. We met some great people and the more we find out about the work the Youth Adventure Trust do, the more we want to help out!"

Ben Pitt, Kaboodle Operations Director
"This is an event I look forward to doing each year. It’s a great physical challenge, in beautiful surroundings, and all to help raise money to support the amazing work the Youth Adventure Trust do in giving opportunities to vulnerable young people, that can make a lasting improvement on their lives."

Luke Smallman, Kaboodle National Business Development Manager
"Having done the challenge for the first time last year, I’m looking forward to taking it on again in 2024. Having seen the work the Youth Adventure Trust do, and the skills they offer to young people, we feel they’re a fantastic charity to be taking on this challenge for!"

Adam Morris, Kaboodle National Business Development Manager
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the team in the Black Mountains for the Housebuilder Challenge to help raise funds for The Youth Adventure Trust. The work that the Trust do is incredible and to be able to help them do more is an honour. I’m also looking forward to adding some speed to the team in the mountains!”

Antony Pitcock, Kaboodle Purchasing & Stock Manager
"Last year was amazing and I have been looking forward to taking on the challenge again. What better way to spend the day than completing both a physical and mental challenge, whilst also helping to support the great work of the Youth Adventure Trust."
